Welcome to the Spray Tan Company. We are a mobile spray tan team in San Diego and Oahu. Spray tans are perfect way to get gorgeous, glowing skin without the damage of the sun. The organic formula we use creates a natural tan in a harmless way. Our mobile artists will come to you.

SPRAY TAN SERVICES

A $100 non-refundable deposit is due upon booking for any bookings that block off 3 or more hours. A $50 non-refundable deposit is due upon booking for any bookings that block off 2 hours or less. The non-refundable deposit goes towards your final balance due on the day of the appointment. The remainder of the payment is due on the day of via cash or card.

Any cancellation made within 7 days of the scheduled appointment time will result in full payment of the services scheduled. As we block out a large portion of time for any of our services we ask that you communicate any changes to your appointment at your earliest convenience. If you want to cancel your appointment, please email us right away.

If the appointment must be rescheduled, we will move the appointment to the date one time without a charge. Any new rates for the new date will apply. Once the appointment date has changed more than once, there will be another deposit of $100 required to hold the new date. The new rates will apply as well.

Deposits can be processed online via Square using a credit or debit card. The remainder of your payment may be paid via cash or card on the day of your appointment. We accept all major credit cards. Our payments are processed via Square. The final payment must be made within 24 hours of your service to avoid a late fee of $25 per day the payment is late. We do not accept Venmo for payments, but you may use Venmo to tip your individual artist or reimburse parking. Cash may also be used to tip your artist or reimburse parking directly to the team.

We do not have a set date we need to know by, but we appreciate you letting us know as early as possible so we can schedule our team accordingly. We will always do our best to accommodate additional services requested, but there is a better chance we will be able to accommodate if you ask us sooner rather than later. We appreciate you letting us know ahead of time if you think your services may change, or if you anticipate some services will be removed or you will want to add more.

If you are from out of town or will not have time before your appointment to do a trial, that is okay! We do not require a trial. We ask for your inspiration photos and notes prior to the appointment so that we are prepared to create your look. We also have a detailed consultation process and ask questions along the way to make sure we are creating a look you will love. We are very open to feedback and happy to make changes as well, so let us know if you have anything you would like changed and we would be more than happy to make the adjustments.

Having a trial is a personal preference. We suggest a makeup trial for anyone who is not used to wearing makeup, is not sure what look they want, or has had a previous bad experience with having their makeup done. There are so many details to a makeup look, so getting an idea of the different options as far as colors, tones, coverage and how it all works on your skin is always beneficial. We suggest a hair trial for anyone who is unsure of how they would like their hair or if your hair is challenging to style. For example, if your hair is fine and does not have a lot of volume or if it does not hold curl well and you want a curled look, it would be a good idea to have a trial to see how well your hair holds the curl. We love meeting our brides before the wedding day, and some of our clients choose to do a trial just to meet us and get a few thoughts cleared before the wedding day. If you are on the fence if you need one or not, then you probably should have a trial!

We recommend doing your trial as close to your appointment date as possible so you have more time to decide on your look, and we can better predict our team schedule so we can match your trial artist as your appointment artist. Typically 1-3 months prior to your wedding date is best. If you would like a trial, please let us know when you book. Though we recommend doing the trial 1-2 months prior to your date, you may email us to arrange your trial earlier than that time frame.

APPOINTMENT PREP & PRODUCTS

For a blowout, your hair should be freshly washed and wet when we arrive. For any style not paired with a blowout, your hair should be clean and 100% dry.

Clean skin with all makeup removed is the best canvas for our makeup artistry. You should also moisturize your face prior to our arrival.

Dress for comfort if you’ll be changing into event clothing. It is best to wear something that buttons so that it doesn’t need to go over your head to remove it.

We use a variety of our favorites which will include familiar brands such as Koko Lashes, Makeup Forever, Estee Lauder, Hourglass, Kat Von D, Smashbox, Ardell Lashes, Anastasia of Beverly Hills, MAC, MUD, Benefit, Davines, Moroccan Oil, Kenra, Joico, Ibiza brushes and many more. For spray tans we typically use Sjolie Tan Solutions. If you have allergies to certain makeup or hair products, please let us know.

All of our products are very long lasting, so they should hold up for the duration of your event or wedding. There are a few things you can do to help the longevity, such as bringing blotting papers. We also suggest a more mattifying foundation or airbrush foundation since those options tend to hold up a bit better, especially for our oily skin clients. We use a variety of different lipsticks and some last longer than others. If you are looking for something that stays on all day and doesn’t transfer, then you want to go with a liquid lipstick. If you're looking for something more natural, then go with a regular lipstick or a gloss. We will provide you with a touch up of the color we used so you can reapply throughout the day.

In our opinion, hair extensions are a great idea! They can add that little extra to your desired hairstyle and increase volume or length, especially if you're thinking of going with a braid or feel like your hair doesn’t hold a curl well.

We recommend clip-in extensions of all human hair. Clip-in sets of 7 are best. We do not sell them personally or cut them on the day of, so be sure to visit your hair stylist prior to your appointment. Here are some of our favorite brands: The Hair Shop, Rapunzel of Sweden, Luxy.

The airbrush foundation is a very thin liquid foundation that will be applied with a spray gun; it is a contactless application. Because it’s so thin, it feels very light and is barely noticeable. The coverage varies from very light to full coverage depending on how many layers are applied; however, even a full coverage application still looks and feels light.

The regular foundation is a liquid that will be applied with a brush or a sponge. Depending on the desired level of coverage, we will choose the right brand for you. Our regular foundations also feel and look very light. If you're not sure what’s the right choice for you, you can always discuss with the artist on the day of and they can help choose the perfect foundation depending on your needs.

SPRAY TAN

The tan artist will set up a pop up tent at your location. You will prepare for your tan by undressing or putting on your underwear of choice. Next, you put on lotion on your hands and feet. Then, you will put on a hair net and step onto sticky pieces of paper to protect the bottom of your feet from getting solution on them. You will step into the tent. We will guide you through poses and postures to ensure we cover your whole body. Depending on how dark you want to be, we may repeat the postures one more time through for a darker tan.

After the tan, wait 5-7 hours to rinse (water only). Then wait 7 more hours to rinse with soap.

We do not require you to wear any clothing during the tan application. If you do decide to wear underwear or a bathing suit, we suggest a darker colored one. The solution will get on the clothes but will easily come out when washed. Be aware that whatever you will wear will leave a tan line, so be mindful in choosing the right clothes. We also have disposable underwear as an option. Please ask your tan artist if you are interested in wearing one of those. After the tan application, loose clothing like a robe or a loose dark colored shirt are best.

We do not recommend doing a hair and makeup trial and spray tan in the same day, as once the spray tan solution is on, you will need to rinse in the shower after the development time suggested by your spray tan artists. If you do have limited availability and want to do both on the same day, we recommend doing your trial in the morning and spray tan in the evening, or your spray tan in the morning with enough hours in between to rinse off, and your trial later on in the day.

Yes! Our classic solutions are meant to be left on 8+ hours so we suggest an evening application so you can sleep in your tan and rinse the morning after. Please be aware that the solution will “bleed” onto your bed sheets and your clothing at night. This might vary from client to client but we do suggest sleeping in darker colored long sleeves to prevent the solution from getting onto your sheets. The long sleeves also help with preventing you from resting your hands on your fresh tan resulting in overly tan palms.

2015

The beginning

Our story began with Allison, who began her career as a model at the age of 13 and fell in love with the behind-the-scenes aspect of the industry. After years of experience as a model and hair stylist, she had a vision of building a reliable professional hair and makeup team who shared her passion of helping people feel their best through beauty. She created Reveal and built a team of diverse, talented artists in Hawaii. Since opening in 2015, the Reveal team has beautified thousands of clients.
